Johns Car is a 1995 Mustang Cobra
built by Southern Speed to compete in NMRA
Drag Radial. John's power adder of choice
is a Turbo. John runs a Precision Turbo and
a custom built turbo kit by Southern Speed.
John's suspension, roll cage, and intercooler
were also done at Southern Speed. This
car has run a best of 8.02@175.57 in NMRA trim. |

| 2005
was Johns first year to compete in this
class. His season consisted of 1 win and
1 runner up, finishing him 5th in total points
for the year. 2006 was a much better season
for John, he won 4 races and was runner up
for 2 more, plus ended up first in points!
Between 2006 & 2007 Southern Speed updated
the chassis to SFI spec 25.2 & 25.5 resulting
in 2 wins & 1 runner up in the first 4 races!
With the recent rule change in the NMRA Drag
Radial Class adding 100 pounds to the 88mm Turbo
Combination, which would put him at 3475 pounds
John decided to step back down to an 85mm Turbo
and run at 3125 pounds, this resulted in less
power (and MPH) however John was still able to
qualify in the #1 position at the NMRA/NMCA
Superbowl with a 8.099@173.14 (over 2 MPH slower
than with the 88mm Turbo) and also went on to not
only win the NMRA Drag Radial race at Joliet but
also won the NMRA/NMCA Superbowl race for the
second year in a row!
